Arrived at our new Home

We arrived safe at the airport in Tel Aviv, the capitol of Israel, on Saturday. Our flight was long but our journey could not have been smoother. One of the Baha’is met us at the airport and took us to our new home in Haifa.

When we arrived to the house, two wonderful families meet us at the door with a surprise in the car. Their four kids were waiting to welcome us with flowers and home cooked food prepared by the moms. Since then all the kids have been inseparable.

The next day we went and visited both Baha’i Shrines which was amazing experience.

The last couple of days we have been trying to take care of paper work and get things organized for the school. The kids are signed up for school and will be learning both Arabic and Hebrew.

Yesterday our family was officially introduced to the staff at the Baha’i world Center at the weekly devotional meeting. Today the moms had a get-together at a mall where there is an indoor carnival. The kids had a wonderful time and met most of the kids here that are around their age.

The main challenges for us at this point is that we live on top of the mountain and since we don’t have a car YET, when walking around, we realized how out of shape we got by living in flat South Florida.

Things are so quiet in here, which I love. Even the government has what called a quite time from 2-4 PM and from 11 PM to 6 AM and at these times people should not have major noise doing work or any other activities.

The nature here is so beautiful. We can look across the mountain and see the bay. I also love the fact that I can open my window in the kitchen and hear my kids playing outside from our third-floor flat and not be worried about them being safe. They went downstairs today and came back running and asked if they can play soccer with kids “that they can’t understand”. So, we asked how they know that is what they where asking? The girls said all three of the boys worked together to be able to put a sentence together in English to ask them if they can play.

After their soccer game they came home red-faced from running, washed, ate a big dinner and fell right asleep! .. I better go to sleep before they get up and ready to go again… Goodnight.

Departure Plan

A few days ago we recived our confirmation from the Baha'i World Center and our tickets to travel to Israel on Friday August 25th.
For the last week we have been living with Susan and Kourosh. They had a wonderful surprise goodbye party for us last night. It was great to see many of our friends and neighbours.
The girls are going to school and working hard, May is still working and Naim is taking care of all the move logistics. The reason we decided to start this blog is to be able to update family and friends about our journy to the Holy Land.
