Grandparent Visit

Last I wrote the kids were in school. We had a major shift in life the last few weeks as the kids had finished their school and made it through the first school year here with flying colors. Their grads had surprise everyone; they have done such a good job and we are very proud of them and proud of their attitude of learning and their acceptance to the new culture they are in. Well, it is more than accepting the culture as they are becoming part of it. Even in the style of music and moves they do walking around the house.

We had a great time with the girls’ grandparents visiting from Belize. The visit was of two parts one for family visit and the other is for their 9 days Baha'i pilgrimage. during our time with them, we went to the Shrines, and several other holy places together, went to the beach, they did many art projects together with their grandmother everything from making earrings, to sawing to drawing, we went shopping, visited the Druze village, had a nice visit to old Akka, Grandpa took us to many nice ice cream shops. They were a great help with assisting us to move to the new place and started the unpacking process. I was able to focuses at my work and was able to spend many hours working, which I love to do. The last week grandma got sick and we all were worried, she ended up in the hospital for a day. She thought it was a combination of something she caught and a food she ate outside the house. Thank God she was able to enjoy the last few days with us and we all were able to go again to the Shrine of Baha’u’llah in Bahji and the day after visit the Shrines in Haifa. We spent the last day packing and just enjoying family time together. I was amazed to find out the number of youth that knew from Belize and how many had actually been through their Maya Mountain Lodge and had spent some time as part of the youth summer projects there. It is really an amazing place and the people are supper friendly. Naim, the girls and I visited several years ago and had a great time.

They also had the end of the year party for their Baha’i children classes. It was so nice and they had a wonderful play and performed so nicely. Their children classes teachers had worked so hard and the kids did an amazing job.

Ohh, the move, I am not really sure I told you how we ended up here. It is a long story I will try to make it short. For a while we been thinking of moving as our old place is not too close to the school, the girls room where really small, we had a wonderful living room but we practically had to eat, study, have guests everything in there. But what really pushed us to rush and move was the fact that we been having problems with mildew in the house and couple of people came to check it and try to fix the problem but it just kept getting worst to the point that in the end the girls room were really bad we could not use much. So here we are in this place that is absolutely right for us. Few minutes to the school, had an amazing Baha’i family that is living next door to us and my brother’s wife’s cousin and here family lives across the street from us. The view is absolutely out of this world. For those who know me well know how much I adore the sunset. The place we are at now has a balcony that looks right into the sea where you can sit outside and watch a breath taking sunset. The rabbis are in heaven as they can run around all day and hid in cool places and happy as can be.

I have so much more to tell you but it is getting too late and I better download the pictures of the camera as it has been full for a while and I have not had the chance to do so.

We are already looking forward to the grandparents visit back in April, 2008
